Drink Review: Duck Duck Razz

Rating

An Adorable, Sweet, Blue Hell

Sights: Ok, so that cute, little duck face can cure Rickey’s grumps on the worst of days. And the drink is the absolute most delightful shade of blue. Top marks for instagramability.

Smells: It’s as if someone converted Rickey’s most ill-advised, youthful drinking mistakes into a scratch n’ sniff. Faux raspberry combined with something vaguely peach-like. It’s not bad, exactly, but it definitely doesn’t smell like anything real.

Tastes: This tastes like blue, and Rickey doesn’t exactly hate that. Obviously it’s sweet. If you don’t dive in knowing that then you deserve to drown in a sea of high fructose corn syrup. It’s got strong, boozy Blue ICEE vibes. Razzzleberry (Raspberry’s second cousin, first removed) punches you right in the face, but is heroically tamed by Lemon Juice, the only real ingredient in the drink. It’s not terrible for what it is, but, y’all, it’s also not good.

Feels: Thin, light and could use some more acidity. But that’s the least of Rickey’s worries right now.

Rick’s Tricks: See if you can get the duck in different drink instead?

Overall: Rickey had to smother that adorable, expectant duck face with a napkin in order to write an honest review here. Sorry, ducky, but this one does not float Rickey’s boat.
