Rick’s Tricks: Free Shots at Disney

TL;DR: Confuse your bartenders by ordering weird stuff. It might pay off (or it might be gross).

If you’ve ever lived in a state that banned buying alcohol after 2am, then you might have found yourself in the pharmacy aisle of your grocer eyeing the cough syrup after a late-night rager. While Rickey’s no stranger to poor decision making, he does NOT abide this level of degeneracy. Instead, you’ll find Rickey clutching a bottle of Angostura Bitters as he stumbles through the bright white lights of his local Publix at 4am.

At nearly 90 proof, Ango is no joke. It’s super boozy, and also way classier than Tussin. But, because it’s sold in such small quantities, the stores can legally keep it on the shelves day AND night.

So, what’s this got to do with Disney? Well Rickey has developed quite the taste for Ango and so he drinks it in shot form during more respectable times of day.

And, recently, when boozing at a local Disney watering hole (which shall remain nameless), he confused the ever-loving hell out of the poor bartender when he ordered it neat. The cast member in question could not compute why anyone would drink this stuff straight.

But Rickey persisted, and even persuaded the bartender to join him (he’s a wily one, that Rickey). The bartender was so repulsed that he momentarily lost all fear of the Disney corporate overlords, and gave Rickey his shot FOR FREE!

Moral of the story- The key to getting free booze at Disney might just be pure mystification. Rickey has also had some luck getting free shots of Aperol, Campari and Green Chartreuse.

So, if you can stomach it, order the most random and obscure shit you can think of, and they might just give it to you on the House of Mouse.
