Drink Review: Bloody Rancor

Rating

Enter The Bone Zone At Your Own Risk

Sights: The drink itself looks like a Bloody Mary. BUT the Bloody Rancor gets style points for the meringue bone. There’s nothing like gnawing on a femur to get one in the Disney spirit.

Smells: This is where the Bloody Rancor runs afoul of Rickey. meringue is basically just egg whites and sugar. And what do egg whites smell like after a some time? Wet dog. We want hair of the dog, not scent of the dog, ok Oga?

Tastes: The Bloody Rancor is really just a basic Bloody Mary, and that’s it. The drink’s not offensive or anything, and the meringue bone is sweet and tasty… However, there is just nothing special about it. Sure, they’ve added some Ancho Reyes, but all that does is make the drink unnecessarily sweeter without actually imparting the spice you want from a Bloody Mary. However, this still might be your best option at Oga’s Cantina if you are only able to snag an early morning reso and you need some help getting your engines started.

Feels: Not too gritty or chunky! (Possibly the least appetizing adjectives for mouthfeel that are also somewhat characteristic of a bloody).

Rick’s Tricks: The bone actually comes as one whole piece. Feel like a real badass and snap it in half. Then you can arrange it accordingly for a better photo op.

Overall: Meh. Aside from the garnish it’s boring. That said, it’ll do if you’re in need of a morning pick me up after a bender. It’s also a good option if you just can’t handle any more sugary Disney drinks and want something savory instead.
