Drink Review: Blue Milk Cooler

Rating

A Harrowing Tale Of Strife and Division

Note: This is the boozy Blue Milk, which has a rum float on the top.

Sights: There is something very visceral about Rickey’s love for this drink. The opaque, light blue resembles nothing naturally edible (on this planet, at least). Maybe it’s reminiscent of cereal milk? Whatever it is, Rickey is a sucker for blue.

Smells: Before you stir in the rum it smells like rum. After stirring you might get a faint, fruity smell, but there’s nothing terribly noteworthy.

Tastes: Rickey thinks it tastes a bit like a pina colada, with tropical fruit and a prominent coconut flavor. His friend thinks it tastes like straight bunghole. In fact, it basically threw her into a violent, blue-spewing rage. And while she had trouble pinpointing exactly why it offended her so, it was something to do with the rice milk and an odd “plasticky” taste. In any event, this drink is divisive.

Feels: Creamy and very cold. However, it’s light enough to be refreshing (unless you hate it, ofc).

Rick’s Tricks: As always, stir in the booze before consumption. Additionally, it is possible to mix the Blue Milk with the Green Milk, if you prefer a more citrusy vibe.

Overall: Leave it to Team Rickey to offer such helpful tasting notes as “bunghole” and “plasticky”. You’re welcome. In all honesty, Rickey would have given this a higher rating if it were solely based on his personal opinion. But in the interest of objectivity (and to placate his very scary friend) he’s going with 3 ChEARS.

  1. Was just there this past March and had this one. It’s a very confusing drink, haha. I keep telling myself I won’t get it again but what says Star Wars more than blue milk?? Great post.

    • Thanks so much, Zack! Yes, “confusing” is definitely a good word for it. That said, being confused has never stopped Rickey before…
