Drink Review: Sweet Tea Old-Fashioned

Chug It ‘Til You Face Plant Right Off The Porch

Sights: Rickey got his in a trusty plastic cup for on-the-move boozing. The seated version comes in a real glass (obvi) but it’s not much different. Both have a nice big cube, lemon peel and several skewered Luxardo Cherries.

Smells: The sweet tea is subtle and the Four Roses stands out. You’ll also get lemon and dark cherry from the garnishes.

Tastes: If all sweet tea beverages tasted this good, Rickey’d drink ’em until he flipped his porch swing. It’s a very simple and light Old Fashioned, slightly softened by the syrup and with added dimension from the bitters at the finish. You won’t really get a lot of that sweet tea flavor, but there’s enough to make it unique.

Feels: It’s relatively light-bodied for an Old Fashioned, which makes it mega refreshing.

Rick’s Tricks: This one comes on draft so it’s “pre-mixed”. But don’t be deterred. Draft cocktails are just as legit as hand crafted ones. AND you know it’s consistent.

Overall: While the Sweet Tea Old Fashioned doesn’t provide the wild time that some of Rickey’s other favorites do, it’s well balanced and highly drinkable. And for a price point that’s lower than many similar cocktails on property, you can chug with abandon!
