Drink Review: Atmospritz

Like A Fine, Silken Goatee, Rick’s Feelin’ It

Sights: Rickey just found out that cotton candy is known as “daddy’s beard” in French. Rickey doesn’t have a beard, but after housing a few of these bad boys he might just craft one. A little cotton candy chin strap for on the go snacking… Anyway, it’s cotton candy in a glass.

Smells: Once the bartender pours in the magical liquid you’ve got an orange forward nose with hints of Aperol. Rickey wishes they’d express an orange peel over the final product to give it some extra pizzazz, but it’s already pretty labor intensive for such an absurd drink.

Tastes: If you like an Aperol Spritz you will probably like this. The major difference is that the Atmospritz is a bit boozier with the addition of New Amsterdam, which Rickey assumes is vodka. Whatever it is, it works here because it helps round out the sweetness from the cotton candy. This cocktail is also a little less heavy on the Prosecco, which is a bit of a shame. Rickey likes his bubbles.

Feels: Lukewarm, slightly flat, and grainy from the cotton candy residue. So basically all the most pleasant descriptors for mouthfeel…

Rick’s Tricks: Ask for a side of ice. While Rickey was getting riled up about the temp of the drink, the table next to him simply ordered some extra cubes for their Atmospritz. Rickey commends them on their ingenuity.

Overall: This is Rickey’s favorite drink from Space 220 thus far. However, unlike with the menus at Nomad Lounge and Oga’s Cantina, Rickey has yet to sample all of the offerings here. And like the rarified scholar he is, Rickey will revise his position when confronted with new data.
