You Should Probably Put This Aura In You
Sights: It’s sorta yellowish with pepper strewn about the top. It has a nice frothy head from the egg whites, which makes it look very appetizing. No complaints here.
Smells: The honey is prominent, and ofc the spice dominates since it’s all up in your snoot. But, as with other egg white cocktails, the threat of wet dog smell looms large unless you drink it post haste.
Tastes: The flavors are very delicate, but blend well together to create a relatively complex palate. You will get a fair amount of cardamon and pepper, balanced with the sweetness of honey and elderflower. And while the gin dries out the drink at the finish, Rickey wanted a bit more citrus to offset the sweetness. That said, they utilize the elderflower liqueur well here, making it subtle when it tends to overwhelm the palate if not used lightly.
Feels: It should be very frothy and a bit heavy, but it’s relatively thin. Perhaps a longer and/or stronger dry shake would remedy this problem.
Rick’s Tricks: Rick’s ordered this drink a few times and the garnish seems to come out a bit different depending on who makes it. The spices feature prominently in the photos shown, but on at least one occasion they were less heavy handed with them. So, depending on your preference, you might be able to request more or less pepper and cardamom.
Overall: Really this drink teeters on the edge between 3.5 and 4 ChEARS. It tend to be well balanced, but occasionally goes overboard with the spice. It also needs a slightly heavier shake to make use of those egg whites. However, when on point, it’s absolutely delicious.

Rickey’s Mom especially likes this drink. Of course I like anything with Gin in it! The Enchanted Rose is one of my favorite places and Rickey and I have had some wonderful times drinking there. Check it out!
So much cardamom powder garnish in photo. Just a slight drop is enough. Its more for aroma and visual. Also slightly muddle rink peppercorns along with cardamom seeds, they get finely mixed when shaking along with solid ice cubes. Works better with Genever instead of Gin. If you used Gin, better would choose Tanquerray 10 or Gin Vine. Honey has to be form pine trees, no flowers. Also use fresh lemon juice, no lime or anything else. Shake vigorously for 30″ and double strain in a chilled glass. This cocktail was originally first made in Santorini. You should mention creator’s name, suppose.
