If Wrigley’s Made Boozy Doublemint…
Ok, objectively, it would be gross to chew booze, but also very handy to sneak into Magic Kingdom (JKJK).
Sights: Hmmmm… Not the most appetizing of looks. It’s sort of swampy and orange-ish brown with no garnish.
Smells: Mint! So. Much. Mint.
Tastes: So this is another cocktail that causes some contention amongst Rickey’s trusted drinking buds. Rickey finds it too sweet, making it genuinely taste like boozy, mint chewing gum. If they dialed back the sugar a bit, you might actually be able to taste the gin. That said, many folks don’t WANT to taste the gin, and so guzzle this one right down. In fact, one of Rick’s favorite people on the planet double crossed him and ordered a second one of these bad boys behind Rick’s back. This is the reason that Rickey gave this a 3 as opposed to going with his instinct and giving it a 2.5. It’s important to listen to your friends, especially when you’re near (or past) the halfway point of a drinking around the world challenge.
Feels: The slush was a bit off by Disney standards, but it was still cold and refreshing.
Rick’s Tricks: As with any Disney cocktail where they unceremoniously dump liquor into a pre-made concoction, stir stir stir.
Also, don’t forget to specify that you want the gin. Otherwise you might be left with a boring-ass regular mint tea.
Overall: Rickey won’t seek this out on his own, but his friends will! They claim it’s incredibly refreshing on a hot day. It also packs a punch with a decent pour of gin, while consistently tasting sweeter and less strong than expected. So if you are a sweet mint tea fan, and you enjoy getting accidentally sloshed, this one’s for you.
