Rickey’s Dun It! (And He’ll Do It Again)
Sights: It warms Rickey’s aged, rodent heart when there is a seemingly bullshit cocktail that actually turns up looking like a decent drink. It’s not overly jazzy, but The Hoodunit’s Punch features cherry and orange garnishes that are kitchy in the very best way. It also has a nice, creamy top layer, indicating that it’s been shaken well.
Smells: Mmmmmm…coconut and pineapple.
Tastes: Rickey loves tropical drinks but far prefers a dark, seedy bar to getting sand in his cracks. So drinking beachy cocktails whilst hunkering down in a dimly lit corner is right up his alley (and rodents LOVE their alleys).
The Hoodunit’s Punch is a rum punch that exceeds any other that Rickey has tasted on property (it’s even better than you, Lamu Libation). It tastes pina colada-like, but it’s also actually, ya know, good. The coconut shines, and softens the acidity of the fruit juices (which taste fresh?). Rum also dominates, but the juice and coconut temper it well. The ingredients are few yet it’s also somewhat complex, a balance that’s hard to create in a tropical drink.
Feels: Medium bodied with a creaminess due to the pineapple.
Rick’s Tricks: Leave the tricks up to the magicians at AbracadaBar. Rickey’s fresh out (i.e. too drunk).
Overall: Right, so, Rickey has a bad habit of stumbling into AbracadaBar after a long day of drinking at EPCOT. This is such a pity because it might be the best bar on property. And while he KNOWS that this drink is awesome, he also got some back up from other trusted Team Rickey affiliates who fully agree: It’s simple, fun and delicious. What else could you ask for?
