Who Doesn’t Love Chugging Sunscreen?
Sights: Rickey once made a Pepto smoothie after a particularly rough night out. It looks like that.
Smells: C’mon crappy drink! The least you could do is SMELL like something good. But, alas, this one is scentless.
Tastes: First, despite the prominence of guava in the ingredients list, Rickey detected zero-ish guava in the flavor profile. Curious.
Second, a problem that can arise when you feature coconut in a cocktail is that instead of tasting delectable and tropical, it tastes like sunscreen. It’s something to do with the amalgamation of astringent boozy notes and the totally nostalgic (though undrinkable) fake coconut scents of time’s past. That said, the coconut in this drink is from cream of coconut, which doesn’t tend to taste manufactured like, say, Malibu Rum. So maybe it’s the guava rum that’s doing it? Regardless, its overly sweet and also reminiscent of accidentally ingesting Hawaiian Tropic.
Feels: Creamy and well blended. So that’s good, I guess.
Rick’s Tricks: Get something else. That’s the trick.
Overall: Rickey swears the bartender side-eyed him when he ordered this pink atrocity. So maybe it’s just not good…? That said, if you really want to put something in your mouth that hearkens back to your lazy, sunscreen slathered days of youth, have at it.
