Drink Review: Yak Attack

Rating

No Yaks Or Attacks Were Involved In The Drinking Of This Drink

Sights: Have you ever seen a sunset so beautiful that you just want to drink it? (And have you ever read prose so hokey that you just want to yak?)

Smells: Rum and… wild berries?

Tastes: Rickey’s puzzled. The berries do not seem wild at all really. Mostly the Yak Attack just tastes like strawberries, which are, objectively, the least wild of the berry varieties. Would a strawberry ever steal your wallet, plunge naked into Discovery River, or smash some psychedelics and try to wrestle Disco Yeti on Everest? Certainly not.

Anyway, this cocktail mostly tastes like mango and the aforementioned wet blanket of the berry world. It also has a prominent rum flavor, though it’s not overpowering. The drink is strong and sweet, but not cloying so it fits nicely within the shame bang category of cocktails.

Feels: Excellent feels.

Rick’s Tricks: You can get this one to-go from Yak & Yeti if there are no seats at the bar (or if you want to photograph it near some detritus, as we have).

Overall: The Yak Attack won’t exactly blow your mind, but it’s a solid choice if you’re in the market for something fruity, well-balanced and refreshing. It’s also a steal by Disney standards at only $12.50 a pop.
