Drink Review: Jenn’s Tattoo

Rating

It’s Probably Ill-Advised, But Rickey Won’t Try To Stop You

Sights: The super cool candied hibiscus flower provides drama and flair…Otherwise it’s just kinda pinkish with a lime wheel.

Smells: Jenn’s Tattoo contains a mega beefy lime, and the nose proves it. All you’ll get is a whiff of citrus due to that garnish, which is not the worst thing that could happen to your nostrils.

Tastes: As with many tattoos, the thrill of the experience begins to wear off relatively quickly. Then all you’re left with is mild disappointment and a smidge of regret as you continue to live with your choices. In other words, the best part about this drink is the way it looks and smells. Upon tasting , the flavor profile is oddly bland and one-note, with watermelon being the prominent element. The finish is just that hawt vodka Rickey keeps going on about. Maybe some additional citrus would help, but overall it’s pretty meh.

Feels: There is a bit of effervescence, which does liven things up a bit.

Rick’s Tricks: The candied hibiscus flower on top is edible. And though it’s not the kind of “edible” that Rickey usually enjoys, he found it to be quite tasty.

Overall: If you really like watermelon then Rickey supposes you might like this. However, if you’re in it for the hibiscus, move along, because it’s not detectable in the actual drink. All in all, the visuals are cool, but the drink itself failed to wow Rickey. That said, many people sing the praises of Jenn’s Tattoo. So just like you should ignore your friends when they advise against getting your cat’s face tattooed on your ass, don’t listen to Rickey if this seems like something you really want to do.
