Ah, Animal Kingdom…teeming with lush flora, majestic fauna and its most ubiquitous of creatures: drunk people.
The park is notoriously light on attractions. To make up for this it seems that they have strategically placed a different bar around every corner. It’s hard to feel bored when you can get shit faced and look at a monkey, right?
But what’s a discerning day drinker to do when there are so many options? Thank heavens for Rickey, who can help you go wild with his top 5 Animal Kingdom cocktails.

#5: Rum Blossom
Location: Pongu Pongu, Pandora
Sure, it’s sweet. But it’s also nicely balanced with tart flavors from the sour limeade. You can get it at rope-drop if item #1 on your agenda is getting sloshed.
#4: Tempting Tigress
Location: Nomad Lounge, Discovery Island
This one’s for the real booze-lovers amongst us. It’s a bourbon forward take on an Old Fashioned, differentiated by allspice dram, tamarind syrup and lime (as opposed to traditional lemon). It’s jockeying for spot #3, but doesn’t quite make the cut because it tends to taste watered down.
#3: Lamu Libation
Location: Nomad Lounge, Discovery Island
The Lamu Libation is on the list for the fruity drink aficionados out there. But just because it’s heavy on the fruit juice doesn’t mean it’s obnoxiously sweet. It’s well balanced with good rum and a Goslings 151 float on the top.
#2: Frozen Rum (or Whiskey) and Coke
Location: Drinkwallah, Asia
This seems like a boring recommendation, but friends…It’s delicious and refreshing and Rickey can’t get enough. Just do it.
#1: Dawa Bar Bloody Mary
Location: Dawa Bar (Duh), Africa
Rickey gets that it’s a bit strange to declare a Bloody Mary the best drink around. But due to bacon and mystery sauce, this one takes his top spot.
Rickey’s Reject
The Snap Decision
Location: Yak & Yeti Restaurant, Asia
Make a more well thought out decision and avoid this weird cocktail. It’s got good bourbon in it, but the Woodford Reserve is fully obscured by ginger beer. It’s also kind of…warm (with a very sad, small pour). Life is too short to pay $14 for disappointment.
Are there any must-do cocktails that Rickey overlooked? Tell him in the comments!
